Harry Coumnas’ Take on the Existence of Unicorns

Unicorns – the pretty, spiraled horses with wings, horns and pearly white manes are more than just mystical fairytale creatures that you've been hearing about in your childhood stories. They are portrayed as peaceful animals, symbolizing strength and purity unlike other mythological creatures like hellhounds and dragons. Nevertheless, amidst so many myths surrounding unicons, do you still believe that unicorns are real?

Harry Coumnas, a young archeologist and scientist believes that these mystical beings are real and considers that there are fossils to prove their existence. Recently, he had discovered a skull fossil in the Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan. Coumnas believes that Elasmotherium Sibiricum or Unicorns roamed around the planet around 29,000 years ago, nearly at the same time as humans did!

A human fossil recently discovered in Western Siberia in the year 2008 is an evidence of the presence of rhinoceros looking creature, dating 45,000 years ago. In addition to this, unicorns have also been mentioned in the Bible nine times and have found their depiction in the Mesopotamian era and ancient regions of China, India, and Greece. King James too mentioned unicorns in the context of known and familiar creatures like goats, peacocks, lambs, lions and they are even used as symbols for Christ by the Early Christians.

Harry Coumnas believes that the real reason for having unicorns chosen as the national symbol of Scotland because Scots are known for being proud fighters, fierce and assertive, ready to die rather than being captured.

With such solid evidence, it is really hard to ignore the existence of our favorite and fascinating mystical creatures, unicorns.
